Over 250,000 people have visited a Glasgow shopping park as children and their parents gear up for going back to school.
This week, Glasgow Fort Shopping Park had one of its busiest weeks of the year so far and expected to be as busy for the final few days of the holidays, with a further 150,000 expected.
Phil Goodman, Centre Manager at Glasgow Fort Shopping Park, said:
“We have been extremely busy this week with parents and children getting stocked up for the coming school year. We have a good mix of quality retailers at the Park so offer options for all ages of school children and young people.
“Apart from Christmas, this final week of the summer holidays tends to be one of the busiest of the year. We’re gearing up for a bumper final few days with soaring sales of black trousers, white shirts and pencil cases.”
Glasgow Fort Shopping Park is home to retailers such as Clarks, Asda Living, New Look and WH Smith for people to stock up on the back to school essentials.
Notes to Editors:
1 Glasgow Fort is an award-winning shopping experience. A shopping destination in every sense, Glasgow Fort offers the unique experience of high street shopping in a convenient location with 1900 free car parking spaces. Alongside leading brand names such as Next, Top Shop and Zara, the park also boasts the first Asda Living store, the first Thornton’s Chocolate Heaven and the first Hobbycraft in Scotland. In addition, it offers a number of restaurants and includes one of the most well equipped crèche and children’s party centres for a shopping park in Scotland.
2. Situated just off junction 10 of the M8, Glasgow Fort Shopping Park is also striking for its architectural design. Constructed in a horseshoe shape, it literally mirrors a traditional high street layout and provides nearly 400,000 sq ft of retail space.
